Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018, sha la la Joseph you’re doing fine! You and your dreamcoat ahead of your time! One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors.
Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator, the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family.

EMTC is partnering with the Montrose Theater to bring you two shows that are filled with laughter to pump up your spirits this Holiday season!
EMTC is producing The Most Amazing Christmas Play Series in the Entire History of the World and the Montrose Theater is producing A Farndale Christmas… Christmas Carol.
Performances are at 8:00 p.m. on December 1 and 2 and at 2:00 p.m. on December 3 at the Montrose Theater.
All tickets are $12. They can be purchased in advance, or at the door on the day of the show.
The Most Amazing Christmas Play Series in the Entire History of the World
Christmas traditions are turned on their heads in this hilariously charming series of four short plays. In Clausarella, the reluctant heir to Santa’s empire finds the strength to step out of his father’s shadow and win true love.Revenge of the Gingerbread Boy transforms the classic confectionary tale into a vendetta soap opera.
Farndale Avenue … Christmas Carol
In a festive mood, the ladies of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society mount another assault on the classics with their stage version of A Christmas Carol. They enthusiastically portray a dizzy array of characters from the Dickensian favorite (and a few which aren’t), engineer some novel audience participation while bravely contending with an intrusive PA system and a real Farndale first rap their vocal cords and feet around two original, show stopping songs.
Auditions for “Love, Loss, and What I Wore” will be held on Tuesday September 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, September 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the office of The Susquehanna County Independent at 180 Church St., Montrose PA.
There will be three performances between October 12 and October 15. Those auditioning will read from the script. Email email@example.com with any questions.
“Love, Loss, and What I Wore” is a play written by Nora and Delia Ephron based on the 1995 book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman. It is organized as a series of monologues and uses a rotating cast of five principal women. The subject matter of the monologues includes women’s relationships and wardrobes and at times the interaction of the two, using the female wardrobe as a time capsule of a woman’s life.
